The last day of Moscow Fashion Week ended with shows packed with customers and Russian celebrities like pop singer Victoria Dayneko and top model Anastasia Reshetova, eager to discover the new collection of Alexandr Rogov and Bella Potemkina, two headliners of this event. Both shows were almost impossible to get in and were equally awaited.

They have in common to be branded by star-designers enjoying a cult following in the country. Alexandr Rogov is a television host with more than 300K followers on social media and the features of a model which also helps. Bella Potemkina is also extremely popular on online network platforms and opened her show with a video showcasing the making of the collection she was about to show the audience.
Both catwalks were dominated by sexy and creative outfits with feather, sheer and short length being the highlights. Styling was clearly made to impress the audience and make us “wow”. It was, before all, about the designers and their personalities as their logos adorning several looks suggested it.

5 questions to ZA_ZA
Q1. What motivated you to become a designer?
“I was driven to the profession of a designer by the desire to create. To create beauty the way I see it and represent it to myself in my inner world. To try to show it through my works. The beauties that we see in this world are seen through their design. Only the designer can understand and bring beauty to life.”
Q2. What are the general spirit and highlight pieces of your A/W 18-19 collection?
“We want to show feelings, a sense of reliability and confidence. Reliability in relationships, loyalty in your choices, harmony inside yourself.”
Q3. What fashion statement ZA_ZA wants to make?
“There should be no restrictions in fashion. In fashion, there should be no colour frames and ideological prohibitions. There should be no politics and race. Fashion is higher than that. In everything and always. Fashion should only bring together and unite.”
Q4. What inspires you?
“Emotions and feelings. Everyone has different ones. Without them, we wouldn’t have achieved anything and would be nothing. Without them, everything would be grey, boring, flat and monotonous.”
Q5. Do you transform and incorporate utilitarian objects into your creations?
“In the previous collection there were knitted bags of used plastic bags. I think that whenever possible, everyone should make as little waste as possible to avoid polluting the environment.”
